Classroom Maintenance Procedure - STAFF PAGES

Weekly and Yearly Maintenance Schedule

Weekly Maintenance

  • Week 1
  • Huma and Rayzor rooms (18).

  • Week 2
  • Sewell, Herzstein, Andersen (Arch), Duncan, and Mech rooms (15).

  • Week 3
  • Keck, Ryon, Space Science, Dell Butcher, Biology, Baker, and Herring rooms (17).

  • Week 4
  • College Classrooms (10).

  • Week 5
  • Start over at Week 1 . . .

Podium rooms are checked once a month.

When new rooms are added the Classroom Maintenance Coordinator should check those rooms himself for a period of one semester. After that semester, the rooms should be worked into the schedule.

Schedule of Break Work

  • Beginning of Summer
    • Perform a Room Check on every room.
    • Perform a Room Cleaning on every room.
    • Perform Classroom Quality Control Check in every room.
    • Equipment needing replacing should be identified and replacements purchased.
    • Screen that stick should be cleaned with buffer (Hire contractor).

    Classroom Quality Control Check

    The Classroom Quality Control Check is still being developed by the Instructional Technology group.

  • End of Summer
    • Perform a Room Check on every room.
    • Perform a Room Cleaning on every room.
    • Install replacement equipment purchased after Quality Control Work was done earlier in the summer. Hire contractors where needed.
    • Contractors should be hired to perform LCD Projector Maintenance (Filter cleaning, etc.)
  • Summer Projects
    • Inventory should be taken of all Classroom technology hardware.
    • During the summer, the Multimedia Builders will often be installing new systems. Inst Tech should take part to ensure consistency with other systems around campus (where appropriate). Inst Tech makes sure that instructions are written, the proper labels are applied to equipment, and helps in any way needed to complete the project.
  • Fall Break
    • Perform a Room Check on every room.
    • Perform a Room Cleaning on every room.
    • Contractors should be hired to perform LCD Projector Maintenance (Filter cleaning, etc.)
  • Winter Break
    • Perform a Room Check on every room.
    • Perform a Room Cleaning on every room.
    • Contractors should be hired to perform LCD Projector Maintenance (Filter cleaning, etc.)
